INGREDIENTS
1 cup cooked rice
2 cups milk
1/3 cup condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon cardamom (elaichi) powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon ghee
1 tablespoon slivered almonds
1 edible silver leaf (varq)
METHOD
Mix together the overcooked rice, milk
and condensed milk in a broad
non-stick pan and simmer on a flame,
stirring continuously, for about 10
minutes.
Add the sugar, cardamom powder and
ghee and mix well till the sugar has
dissolved.
Remove from the fire. Garnish with the
almonds and silver leaf. Serve hot.
OR
You can also make kheer in traditional
style where you take 3 litre milk add
one 1 cup of uncooked well washed rice
in a large bhigauna (pan) and cook on
slow fire for almost 2 hrs. Add 2/3
saffron strands . Once you see its
colour change to slightly yellowish
and rice done then with spoon crush
the rice well . Don't forget to stir
it so that it doesn't stick to base of
the pan Add sugar as per taste 2-3
tablespoon .Garnish and serve
In same style you can cook makhane ki
